Hurricane & Weather Outlook

In our area, high pressure is dominating the weather that is going to affect us later today and the rest of this week; but with daytime heating and sea breeze boundary, we could see a pop up shower and thunderstorm initiating later this afternoon, probably after 3 PM.

It looks to be a very quiet week in the tropics. There is nothing of any concern in the Atlantic. While in the Eastern Pacific, we have a tropical depression, 4-E. Details are below:

Around the country, we are continueing to see the flash flooding in parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Elsewhere, we see an upper level low that is spinning its way to the east just north of Minnesota. This, in combination with daytime heating, will allow for some severe weather to fire up later today in parts of the Midwest including the states of Wisconsin, all of Michigan, Northern Illinois, and northwestern Indiana. There is also a severe weather threat in the flood ravaged areas of TX and OK. The synoptic map below shows the current weather around the country.
